Health Benefits of the Chocolate Kiss Treats Ingredients

  1. Medjool dates - These dates significantly increase fiber, which helps cholesterol levels. Even though they are higher in sugar than many other fruits, they are easily processed and used by the body for energy. They are rich in calcium which is great for teeth and bones.

  2. Nut butter (like almond butter, sunflower seed butter, etc.) - Your favorite nut butter will give you some protein and healthy fats. This last time I made these treats, I happened to have Granola Butter on hand so I tried that. It was quite nice. It’s made with gluten-free oats, flax, olive and coconut oil, maple syrup and some wonderful spices.

  3. Cacao powder - Mostly the raw form of cocoa powder, very high in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory, this ingredient can improve your mood and boost your energy and brain power.

  4. Protein Powder - This extra dose of protein which helps stabilize blood sugar, build muscle and repair tissue is a great addition.

  5. Sea Salt or Himalayan Pink Salt - Sea Salt is rich in trace minerals and holds many other benefits. Stop the table salt and find some good unrefined sea salt

  6. Cinnamon - High in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory, cinnamon helps to stabilize blood sugar. Ceylon Cinnamon seems to be a better quality than Cassia.

  7. Coconut Oil - This oil is good for your brain, heart, immune system and helps with energy.

  8. Flax, Chia, Hemp seeds - These may be small, but they are all packed with nutrition - protein, fiber and healthy fats make these a wonderful addition to your healthy recipes. You can buy these separately and mix them if you want to include all 3 or sometimes you can find them pre-mixed.

As you can see it really is possible to enjoy a sweet snack that’s good for you!
